I call myself a heavy Mac user, and I have taken thousands of screenshots in the last year alone that are all published on these WordPress theme collections. There are 6 (!) different ways to capture a screenshot on your Mac, 3 different approaches with 2 separate outputs for each, but I use only two. Unfortunately, there is no such button on your Mac, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t take a screenshot you can, but the process is a bit more complicated, harder to memorize but is much more flexible when it comes to output and what you are specifically looking to capture in a screenshot. There are some exceptions, but almost all Windows keyboards have the “Print screen” button somewhere. You can also use browser add-ons (such as Awesome Screenshot for Chrome) to capture screen shots of whole webpages, even if the page extends beyond what you can see on screen.If you Googled “How to do Print Screen on a Mac,” it means that you recently have switched from Windows to a shiny Mac and have no idea where to find the “Print Screen” button, which is present on most keywords designed for Windows. These are just a few ways to capture screenshots.
Your screen grabs will be saved automatically in the downloads folder. Or, to capture an area of the screen, press Ctrl and Shift and Overview keys.

To do this, select the program you wish to screengrab (for instance, a web browser window) - simply click on it to make sure it's the active program. You can screengrab one window or program, which makes for a smaller picture file. You don't have to capture your entire Windows screen. You can then attach this file to an email. The easiest way to do this is to open Paint, then click Ctrl + V in a new blank image. You may be able to paste the screengrab directly into an email - click Ctrl + V inside the body of the email to attempt this.Īlternatively, save your screengrab as a new image file. Click this, and you will capture what's on your screen and effectively save it to your clipboard - a little like clicking 'copy' on some text or an image. On a Windows PC, your keyboard should have a key around the top-right corner that says PrtScn - this is short for Print Screen.
